Tell Tale Poe In-Person
“With me poetry has been not a purpose, but a passion.” So wrote Edgar A. Poe in the preface to his 1845 book “The Raven and Other Poems”.
Join us to celebrate Poetry Month with a live performance by Helen McKenna. She will recite some of Poe's greatest works, including The Raven, from memory.
Actress Helen McKenna has been performing Poe’s works since high school. She has a bachelors degree in theater; a masters in English literature; and worked at the Edgar Allan Poe house in Philadelphia for over 20 years. She has been portraying Poe and his material for over 30 years.
