Childhelp Awareness Backpack Drive

Childhelp Awareness Backpack Drive In-Person

An ambassador from Childhelp will be at the Library throughout the week accepting donations (child-friendly items, kids clothes, toys and school supplies). Alternatively, patrons can purchase Childhelp backpack and drop it in the supply bin.

Childhelp is a national nonprofit dedicated to the prevention and treatment of child abuse, and our seasonal drives provide critical resources and comfort to children entering foster care or facing crisis situations. Through the support of local organizations, we’re able to collect backpacks filled with school supplies and distribute new toys that bring joy and stability to vulnerable children.

Childhelp's goal is to raise awareness and generate enough school supplies, clothing, toys, and backpacks for children in our own backyard who have unfortunately been victims of abuse and neglect - which is sadly needed more now than ever since the crazy pandemic occurred.

Childhelp is one of the largest and oldest nonprofit organizations in the United States. Childhelp is dedicated to helping victims of child abuse and neglect, as well as at risk children and families. Childhelp operates the ONLY National Child Abuse Hotline, 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453), dedicated to preventing child abuse. Serving the US, its territories, and Canada, the hotline is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with professional crisis counselors who assist in over 170 languages.
