Beginner Story Structure: Tween Writing Workshop In-Person

Calling all tween writers ages 8-12 for a special writing workshop!

Laura Genn—local debut author of YA sci-fi Between Sun and Shadow (Peachtree Teen, 2026)—has been writing stories since her own tweenage years. In this 60-minute program at the Cherry Hill library, she will lead tweens through building blocks of story structure: a character, a conflict, and a hard-fought solution. Featuring examples from popular children’s media like K-Pop Demon Hunters, the group discussion format prioritizes active participation in collaboratively brainstorming their own stories, with props like stuffed animals to get ideas started. Genn will also take questions from the kids about writing, storytelling, and her personal journey as an author.

**For ages 8-12, please do not register your child if they do not fit in this range.**
