ARTIST BIO: Dwayne Botnick

I grew up in New Jersey and proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard before building a career in the heavy equipment industry. I continue to pursue my lifelong passion for photography—a journey that began decades ago when I first discovered the magic of the darkroom. Though technology has transformed the tools of the craft, what hasn’t changed is the person behind the camera, drawn to the same sense of quiet observation.

In The Stillness Between Moments, I explore the beauty found in landscapes, streets, and abandoned places. These photographs are less about grand scenes and more about the pauses in between—the overlooked corners where time seems to hold its breath. Each image captures a brief stillness, yet beneath it lies movement: the traces of those who passed through, and the stories left behind. My work invites viewers to slow down and see the dignity in decay, the rhythm of the everyday, and the enduring presence of places that time forgot.
